MY APPROACH TO FITNESS
As human beings we all move. But, we don’t all move the same nor do we all move with ease and fluidity. Therefore, it makes sense to begin your training programs by restoring proper movement patterns and function before loading your joints and muscles.
While implementing the principles of Applied Functional Science from The Gray Institute ™ we will work together to improve your fundamental movement patterns.
On a physical level we will take a look at how you move and transition from one position to another, your stability and mobility and symmetry, as well as your muscle and joint reactions.
A proper effective training protocol should move your body as a chain reaction top- down or bottom-up and through all 3 planes of motion. When you move efficiently in all 3 planes of motion you can begin to access visible results. A proper chain reaction will cue the body to complete a task asking the whole body to work. This is known as a global movement as opposed to local movement. This is different from conventional training methods which suggest that the body is capable of isolating certain muscles. It is not.
On a behavioral level we will build on your successes through encouragement and empowerment. Focusing on the completion of movements we know your body can do efficiently, thus stimulating the less efficient movement patterns and body parts. This will gradually improve and increase total strength, power, flexibility and range of motion.
With these techniques my clients and athletes can achieve better outcomes based on their needs and demands.

Functional Movement sessions can help you if you’re experiencing pain, stiffness and dysfunction.
Personal training sessions are available for anyone who is interested in an overall fitness program customized with an individual’s goals in mind.

GROUP TRAINING
Class workouts are a great way to minimize the time it takes to achieve maximum results.
Group exercise is motivating and individuals perform at a higher level when they train in groups.
Every workout is designed to emphasize a full body approach with movement in all 3 planes of motion.
You will leave class with the energy, strength and mobility to last the whole day.
